Aerosmith have announced the band are set to retire and their forthcoming live shows will be their final ever shows. They will play one show in the UK when the headline the Sunday night at UK festival Download.

Brit Rockers Thunder have once again returned with new music, their new album is called Rip It Up and will be unleashed on February 10th.  Tracks set for inclusion are ‘No One Gets Out Alive’, ‘Shakedown’, ‘Heartbreak Hurricane’ and ‘The Chosen One’.

Former Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy will release his new solo album Smash through Frontiers Records on January 27th. It includes the tracks ‘I Know I’m Crazy’, ‘Shut Down Baby’, ‘Rain’ and ‘Want Too Much’. Here’s the official audio video for the track ‘Jamie’

Promising Finnish melodic rockers The Nights have signed to Frontiers Records. Keep an eye out for these guys in 2017!

Hard Rock Hell has announced its first batch of bands for the 2017 XI event. These include Airbourne, Y&T, Gun, The New Roses and Syteria. Tickets are available now from their official website!

The legends that are Night Ranger have release an official live video of their classic ‘Don’t Tell Me You Love Me’ which is from their upcoming live album – 35 Years and a Night In Chicago. Enjoy it loudly below.

Swedish rockers Bonafide have announced their brand new album will be called Flames and will be released in 2017 via Off Yer Rocka Records. It will be preceded this December by the release of the single ‘Smoke and Fire’. The band have also announced an extensive UK tour including an appearance at HRH AOR 5 in Pwllheli, North Wales and O2 Academy 2 in Birmingham on March 12th.

Lords of Black have released an official lyric video for their track ‘Shadows Of War’ – check it out below. It’s from their album II which was released earlier this year.

Black Star Riders will release their new album Heavy Fire on February 3rd through Nuclear Blast Records. It will include the tracks ‘Dancing With The Wrong Girl’, ‘Who Rides The Tiger’, ‘Cold War Love’ and ‘Letting Go Of Me’. The band also hit the road in March 2017 with an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland. They have released a lyric video for the track ‘When The Night Comes’ you can listen to it here.

New melodic hard rockers Devilstar have just released their debut single ‘She’s Always on the Run’ you can watch the video for it below. The brainchild of Birmingham based former Hanging Doll man Alex Cooper who is also a much sought after and respected engineer / producer. The band have already got a confirmed live appearance slated for March at the HRH AOR Festival – but this is just the start with a full album and further live shows planned for 2017!

UK rockers The Quireboys will take their latest album Twisted Love on the road in the UK next April with an extensive tour to include an appearance at HRH AOR and The Asylum in Birmingham on April 28th!

Midlands based AOR act Iconic Eye have had a few line-up changes recently and the new line-up which has now been revealed is a bit unexpected too, as they have now recruited a female lead vocalist! Joining the band on guitar is Rob Mitchard and Jane Gillard on vocals! They have re-recorded two songs ‘Let It Rain Down’ and ‘All She Needed’ which you can download now from all the usual suspects and also videos for said songs which you can track down on Youtube.

Following the cancellation of his Autumn UK tour Glenn Hughes hasn’t messed about getting a re-scheduled tour up and running. The UK and European tour takes place this coming January and February and sees Hughes returning to The Robin on January 23rd. Walsall modern rockers Stone Broken will support on all dates including the European ones.

Bonfire will release their all new album Byte The Bullet on the 24th of March. More extensive touring will also occur in the new including more UK dates.

German vocalist Michael Bormann has announced his next band/project entitled Jaded Hard. This will be a live only project as it sees Bormann performing Jaded Heart (Bormann Era) 1990-2004 songs. The Current incarnation of Jaded Heart have evolved musically into more melodic metal territory so these old songs aren’t in their sets anymore. Also, Bormann admits he doesn’t perform the old Jaded Heart songs anymore so this is a unique opportunity for old school Jaded Heart fans to enjoy those songs live. No dates have been announced as of yet, I presume they will be mainly in Germany but I’m sure most of us in the UK will be keeping our fingers crossed!

Eternal Idol have released another official audio video from their forthcoming album for the song ‘Is The Answer Far From God?’. The album The Unrevealed Secret will be released on December 2nd through Frontiers Records. Check out the video below.

When Steelhouse Festival announced Skindred as one of their 2017 headliners, it was met with a lot of negativity from fans of this predominately classic rock orientated festival. So I’m sure those fans will be a lot happier about the second headliner Saxon who will be playing the festival for a second time!

Another British hard rock band added to the Frontiers Records this year is City of Thieves. They will release an album via the label in 2017 and will be met by much anticipation as the album is produced by Toby Jepson and mixed by Mike Fraser both legendary figures in the world of rock.

Glam rock legends Kiss will be back in the UK in May 2017 for a few Arena shows. This includes Sunday 28th of May at The Barclay Card Arena (NIA).

I know I’m not alone in been a little bit excited about the imminent release of the latest Pride of Lions album! So it’s great to hear a taster in advance with official audio video for the track ‘The Tell’, enjoy it below and prepare for the release of Fearless on Frontiers Records on January 27th.

Australian hard rockers Dellacoma have released a brand new music video for the song ‘Time Falls Away’ crank it up below. The band are playing live shows worldwide including a pit stop in the UK for an appearance at HRH AOR in early March.

Italian AOR-ster’s Lionville who are of course fronted by Swede Lars Safsund (Work Of Art) have announced their third album! Entitled World Of Fools it will be let loose on February 24th via Frontiers Records. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘I Will Wait’, ‘Heaven Is Right Here’, ‘All I Want’ and ‘One More Night’.

As previously reported – but it’s Magnum so well worth reminding you of! Their new ballad compilation album with new mixes and remasters The Valley of Tears is released on January 6th through German label SPV/Steamhammer.

Jack Russell’s Great White have released their first taster of their new with an official audio video for ‘Blame It On The Night’ which you can check out below. The album it’s taken from He Saw It Comin’ will be released through Frontiers Record on January 27th.

When HRH NWOBHM was announced I had thought it was to be a one off special event. But just as the Fest happened details for a follow up festival for December 2017 was announced. Once again at the O2 Academy in Sheffield over two days – Some interesting bands are the bill so far including Airrace, Lionheart, Praying Mantis and Diamond Head.

The new Place Vendome album will be called Close To The Sun and will be released through Frontiers Records on February 24th. This popular project is of course fronted by Michael Kiske once again with Dennis Ward at the production helm! It will feature tracks ‘Welcome To The Edge’, ‘Strong’, ‘Light Before The Dark’ and ‘Breathing’.

Following the success of last year’s arena shows Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow are back for more shows in the summer of 2017. These UK shows including June 28th at Genting Arena, Birmingham (That’s the NEC!).

Steve Brown (Trixter) and Ted Poley (Danger Danger) have teamed up for a new band Tokyo Motor Fist. The exciting debut album collaboration between these two melodic rock heroes will be released on February 24th via Frontiers Records. It will include the songs ‘Love Me Insane’, ‘Done To Me’, ‘You’re My Revolution’ and ‘Shameless’.

Andy Rock has released his third single from his new solo album This Time. You can check out the official audio video for the single ‘She’s Dangerous’ below. The album is released on December 16th via Lion’s Pride Music.

Cult AOR rockers Unruly Child return with a new album Can’t Go Home which will be released on February 24th through Frontiers Records. It will include the tracks ‘The Only One’, ‘Get On Top’, ‘When Love Is Here’ and ‘Someday Somehow’. Frontiers also plan to release a box-set of out of print independently released albums from them in the spring.

Swede’s Mean Streak have signed to Rock N Growl Management and they will release their fourth album Blind Faith in 2017.

As we all know Tony Harnell is back in TNT – well they will release a new album in spring 2017 on Frontiers Records. This album will mark the first songs written by Harnell and Le Tekro together in over 10 years. The band will be playing live shows to celebrate thirty years of their iconic album Tell No Tales.

Alien frontman Jim Jidhed will release his solo album Push On Through on January 27th through the AOR Heaven record label. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘Glorious’, ‘If We Call It Love’, ‘Waiting For Summer’ and ‘Next In Line’.

Long serving Magnum keyboardist Mark Stanway has announced his immediate departure from the band. Stanway states he will continue in music with other projects and bands in the future.

Swedish newcomers Sweet Mary Jane will release their album Winter In Paradise on January 27th through AOR Heaven. It will include the tracks ‘Fire In Your Eyes’, ‘Carry On’, ‘Angel Of Mine’ and ‘Keep The Fire Burning’.

Skin & Bone the band formed by former Tara’s Secret men John Trowbridge and Ritchie Beardsley have called it a day. This decision was made after Beardsley decided to leave the band. They will now chase other musical opportunities.

Babylon AD frontman Derek Davis has released his second solo album Revolutionary Soul. It includes the tracks ‘Rapture’, ‘Valerie’, ‘Vicious Heart’ and ‘King Of Fools’.

Greek rockers Wild Souls who have recently released their album Game Of Love on Lions Pride Music, have released another official music video. Check out ‘Shame On You’ below.
