HRH AOR 5 have announced a whole load of new bands added to the 2017 line-up. The Festival is completely sold out of onsite accommodation/ticket packages, with only a limited amount of day passes now available. I did notice two bands dropped from the line-up, Gun and Chase the Ace. So we had a mammoth 27 new bands added so, take a deep breath and they are – FM, LA Guns, Paul Laine, Kane’d, Bailey, Estrella, Daylight Robbery, Summers, The Radio Sun, Trophies of Man, Falling Red, Reach, Damn Dice, Voodoo Vegas, Dellacoma, Walkway, Devilstar, Hell’s Addiction, Art Nation, Sordid Lies, Saints Of Sin, Black Bullets, Epic, Silent Jack, Bulletproof Rose, Haxan and Madam Guillotine. The big news from this announcement is probably the fact that this version of LA Guns will see Tracii Gun and Phil Lewis reunited onstage!

Melodic Rock heroes Tyketto release their latest album Reach on October 14th through Frontiers Records. The album will feature guitarist Chris Green, Keyboardist Ged Rylands and Bassist Chris Childs. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘Circle The Wagons’, ‘I Need It Now’, ‘Letting Go’ and ‘Remember My Name’. The Tyke’s will also be touring in the Autumn too including a show at The Robin in Bilston on December 4th.

An evening of AOR has been announced for the 25th of February 2017 at new live music venue The Station in Cannock – the evening is in aid of Epilepsy awareness – The three local melodic rock acts performing are Daylight Robbery, Iconic Eye and RKB.

Mitch Malloy has released his first single and accompanying video for the track ‘My Therapy’ from his soon to be released new album Making Noise. Malloy has an extensive UK tour this September including a show at The Robin in Bilston on September 11th support comes from Malloy approved Australian’s Kaato and local rockers Soley Mourning! Acclaimed melodic rockers Seven will release their second album Shattered through Escape Music on September 23rd. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘A Better Life’, ‘Pieces Of You’, ‘Broken Dream’ and ‘I Needed Time’.

Toto will release a new live CD / DVD package Live In Montreaux 1991 on September 16th. Tracks featured include ‘Kingdom Of Desire’, ‘I’ll Be Over You’, ‘Africa’ and ‘Rosanna’.

Italian melodic metallers Shadowspell have signed to Frontiers Records. The band is a collaboration between guitarist Aldo Lonobile and vocalist Nils K. Rue.

Christian rockers Stryper frontman Michael Sweet is set to release his latest solo album One Sided War on August 26th through Rat Pak Records. The album will feature the following tracks ‘Can’t Take This Life’, ‘Radio’, ‘Golden Age’ and ‘Comfort Zone’.

Harry Hess’s First Signal have released another official audio video – you can check out ‘Weigh Me In’ from the band’s recently released album One Step Over The Line below.

Lion’s Pride Music have signed Vern Daysel for the release of his debut album Shootin The Breeze.

New Melodic Rockers OD are poised to make a big impression with their debut album release in 2017 through Frontiers Records. The band features Andre Linman of Sturm Und Drang on vocals and the buzz is this is going to be a be a killer melodic rock album.

House of Shakira will release their new album Sour Grapes at the end of August through Melodic Rock records.

The Riverdogs return with a new album set for release in 2017. The band features original members Rob Lamothe (Vocals) Vivian Campbell (Guitars) and Nick Brophy (Bass), I’m sure many melodic hard rock fans will be eagerly anticipating this one!

Italian Melodic Rockers Soul Seller return after a five years with a brand new album Matter Of Faith to be release on September 19th via Tanzan Records. The track list will feature ‘Get Stronger’, ‘Get Away From The Light’, ‘Wipe Your Tears Away’ and ‘Made Of Stone’. They will release a video for the track ‘Tide Is Down’ prior to the album’s release.

Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime will release their second album Resurrection in September through Frontiers Records. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘A Moment In Time’, ‘Left For Dead’, ‘Miles Away’ and ‘Invincible’. Check out the official audio video for the track ‘Left For Dead’ below for a taster of the album.

British classic rockers Raveneye will release their debut album Nova on September 23rd through Frontiers Records. Tracks to be included are ‘Out Of The Rain’, ‘Inside’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Madeline’.

Frontiers have signed Italian sleazy melodic rockers Hell In The Club to a multi album deal. Expect a new album sooner than you think!

Seventh Wonder will release their first live album – a CD/DVD package – Welcome To Atlanta live 2014 on September 23rd through the Frontiers Records label. Tracks among the set list include ‘Unbreakable’, ‘Fall In Line’, ‘One Last Goodbye’ and ‘Walking Tall’.

DGM have released another official audio track, ‘The Secret pt.1’ is lifted from their new album The Passage which will be released on August 26th via Frontiers Records. Check the song out here.

Jack Russell’s Great White have signed to Frontiers Records. The band are currently working on new material which we are told will hark back to the band’s heyday sound. Frontiers also hope to release the album in early 2017.

One of my favourite AOR vocalists Goran Edman is back with a new project Cry Of Dawn which is set for release in September through Frontiers Records. There are songs contributed by Michael Palace, Steve Newman, Soren Kronqvist and Daniel Flores who also produces the album! Songs set for inclusion are ‘Hands Around My Heart’, ‘Life After Love’, ‘Listen To Me’ and ‘Tell It To My Heart’. Here’s a lyric video for the track ‘Listen To Me’, enjoy!

Jace Pawlak has released a brand new album Promises via Kivel Records. Tracks included are ‘Before You Run’, ‘Trying Not To Love You’, ‘Late On Loving You’ and ‘Can’t Find My Heart’.

The legendary Tygers Of Pan Tang will release their brand new album will be on October 21st. The album will include the tracks ‘Only The Brave’, ‘The Reason Why’, ‘Do It Again’ and ‘Angel In Disguise’. The Tygers will be on the road at the same time including a show at The Robin in Bilston on October 25th.

Australian hard rockers Roadkill will release their new album Extinct in September through Australian record label Melodic Rock Records.

Tango Down release their latest album Bulletproof this August through Kivel Records.

Loud and Proud Records release a new live CD/DVD package from Extreme celebrating the 25th anniversary of their classic Pornograffitti album. Metal Meltdown Live will be released on September 23rd and will feature the album played in full and in track order!

Alter Bridge have launched the newest album The Last Hero which will be released through Napalm Records on October 7th. The first single will be ‘Show Me A Leader’ and you can check that out below. Other songs that will be on the album include ‘My Champion’, ‘Poison In Your Veins’, ‘You Will Be Remembered’ and ‘Crows On A Wire’.

Former Nightwish and Alyson Avenue vocalist Anette Olzon has recorded some guest vocals for a re-recorded Secret Sphere track ‘Lie To Me’. The track will be featured on the aforementioned bands upcoming live album as a bonus track.

Vince O’Regan’s Legion will release their 9th album Last Man Standing on September 23rd. The band’s new vocalist is still to be named following the departure of American Phil Vincent.

British blues based rockers Raveneye have released a brand new music video for the track ‘Hero’ ahead of their debut album release. Frontiers Records will release the album entitled Nova on September 23rd.

The latest announcement from melodic rock records is the release of the new Mecca album Mecca 3 in October. Lots of strong comments been made about this album reporting it to be one of the best pure AOR records of recent times and I’m sure this will be a popular album with hardcore genre fans. This old school record will feature the tracks ‘Take My Hand’, ‘Alone’, ‘Cry’ and ‘Believe’.

Frontiers Records have signed Walsall modern rockers Stone Broken the Planet Rock darlings will release a new album in 2017. The heavy touring band have loads of headline shows and Festivals lined up for the end of 2016!

Jeff Scott Soto’s solo band SOTO have announced another European tour for early 2017 including a string of UK shows – most notably 10th February at The Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton.

Prog rockers The Room have announced they will be shooting a live DVD of their upcoming show at The Robin in Bilston on October 23rd. The show is in association with Fireworks Magazine.

Rik Emmett’s (Triumph) new band RESoultion9 have signed to Mascot Records and the album will be released in November.

Melodic rock legends Hardline return with a new album this October entitled Human Nature. It will be released through Frontiers and will once again see Johhny Gioeli working with Alessandro Del Vecchio and guitarist Josh Ramos – we are told to expect a heavier, harder collection of songs. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘Nobody’s Fool’, ‘Running On Empty’, ‘Take You Home’ and ‘Fighting The Battle’.

German power metal band Refugee have signed to Frontiers Records. The band is basically legends Rage renamed as the line-up consists of all the members of that band from 1987 to 1994. Refugee was granted life when the band members wanted to get out and play those Rage classics live – expect a new album of original material in 2017.

One to keep an eye out for fans of female vocalists is Madame Mayhem who after rave reviews in her native US will finally release her album Now You See in Europe via Metalville on August 26th. Check out the video for ‘Left For Dead’ below for a taste.

Aussie melodic rockers The Radio Sun will release their third album Outside Looking In through Melodic Rock records on September 30th. Tracks included will be ‘You’ll Never Know’, ‘Broken’, ‘My Heart Is On Fire’ and ‘Falling For You’.

Former Europe guitarist Kee Marcello has announced his new album will be called Scaling Up and will be unleashed on October 14th through Frontiers Records. Tracks set for inclusion are ‘On The Radio’, ‘Don’t Miss You Much’, ‘Wild Child’ and ‘Don’t Know How To Love You No More’. Kee will also be on tour in September including a show at The Robin in Bilston on the 22nd of September.

The early ‘90’s supergroup Blackthorne which featured Graham Bonnet will re-issue their debut album Afterlife and it’s unreleased follow up album Don’t Kill The Thrill through Cherry Red Records on September 2nd.

Aussie rockers Airbourne release their new album Breakin Out Of Hell on September 23rd via Spinefarm Records.

Magnum have just announced a few UK dates for their winter tour including the 10th December at the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton.

Secret Sphere will release their first live album One Night In Tokyo on October 14th through Frontiers Records.

Kansas have released their first single ‘With This Heart’ and its accompanying video from their upcoming album The Prelude Implicit – you can enjoy it below. The first album from the classic rockers in sixteen years will be released on September 23rd.

Greek rockers Danger Angel have signed to Melodic Rock Records to release their latest album All The Kings Horses on September 30th. Soto bassist BJ is now the bands vocalist – their last album actually featured Jeff Scott Soto himself. Tracks to be included on the album are ‘Call My Name’, ‘Best Of Me’, ‘Speak To Me’ and ‘How About Right Now’.

Frontiers Records have signed a multi-album deal with Italian metal band Hevidence. Their first album with the label should be released before the end of the year.

Well as quickly as it was announced Michael Bormann was the new frontman of Bonfire following the departure of David Reece, it seems they have announced yet another vocalist. So the new vocalist is Alexx Steel and he will feature on the bands upcoming album due to launch in spring 2017!
