Hotly tipped modern Prog rockers Kyros are ones to watch for genre fans, who mix Muse, Depeche Mode and their own synth heavy feel to create an exciting new sound that should make a lot of Prog rockers happy. This critically acclaimed young English outfit have recently self-released their debut album double album Vox Humana.

Kyros are very experimental and are not shy to be so! Their multi layered sound is synth heavy with memorable choruses and even though the songs have Prog structures they have a strong commercial edge and a slight pop twinge. This makes Kyros far more accessible to non Proggers and they are far less avant-garde and highbrow like most Prog acts (especially the old guard) – many of whom I struggle with.

Most prog bands are applauded for their high-end musicians involved and Kyros are no different. Displaying melodic guitar licks, strong keyboards and smooth vocals that should have Prog fans everywhere dribbling. But Kyros are not aimed at the grey hair rockers their sound is attuned and set straight towards young ears.

While the influences behind their music dates back the seventies innovators their actual modern prog sound owes more to Muse, Radiohead and Depeche Mode. They are the natural successors to the old guard Prog bands and while keep the genre flame burning in the future.
