Spearheading the current crop of quality British melodic rock emerging in recent times is VEGA and ‘Stereo Messiah’ is the third album from this exciting, modern melodic rock act. This album hit me instantly I was totally mesmerised from the opening chord to the final note and the first thing I thought was ‘I really should pack up all my CD’s, I only really need three’ and that’s because VEGA give me everything I need and desire from music. These guys are far from stereotypical of the music I listen to mainly, but I just connect with these songs more intensely, I’m totally on the same wavelength and I get really excited and motivated by these songs.

‘Stereo Messiah’ has to me a much brighter feel good factor overall than we heard with ‘What The Hell’ most notably brought to the forefront by the likes of the infectious melody dripping ‘Wherever We Are’, ‘Gonna Need Some Love Tonight’ and ‘The Wild The Weird The Wonderful’. But don’t worry they still have some darker tracks like the stunningly awesome ‘Ballad Of The Broken Hearted’ and current favourite ‘With Both Hands’ which has an amazing mid section where Workman lays his vocals over an already orgasmic keyboard hook to create sheer musical awesomeness.

Prior to VEGA I wasn’t a huge fan of Workman’s lyrics, he doesn’t write from the melodic rock hand book and has a unique style in how he writes, but I’m listening to this album and thinking this dudes a fooking genius. ‘Stereo Messiah’ has everything the average melodic rock fan looks for in music, plenty of full frontal keyboards, more woooahhhh’s than you can shake a shitty stick at, sing along choruses, dance floor filling guitars and more excitement than is medically safe – best keep a crash cart handy.

‘Stereo Messiah’ is vibrant, alive and electric and is really an exceptional record which sees a bunch of musicians at the top of their game and proving it with undeniably powerful performances on every song. They take what we love from the past re-jig it make it a little bit different and have delivered to us the stadium rock anthems of a new era.

I really feel these guys can do no wrong they are yet to write a song I don’t get all fired up over and they go from strength to strength with each release. I love these guys and you should too cause they are awesome. Melodic Rock for modern times, get your voices ready, fix those smiles and get your dancing shoes on and crank this one up cause shits about to get real!
